Lye Pastries

Laugenecken are a wakeup moment if you’ve never had them before. They are my twin sister Jeanne’s and my favorite German breakfast treat and the best part is that they (kind of) count as a brötchen but are technically a pastry. These flaky, pretzel-like croissant corners are so super delicious and the most versatile savory pastry, perfect for topping just like you would a brötchen. You can also eat them plain, of course. I know you will want to plan to make them again as so
