Method

Beat 7 eggs and lb, or ¾ glass, sugar until white. Add the zest from ½ lemon, ground cinnamon, cloves, finely chopped candied citrus peel, several walnuts boiled in sugar and cut into very thin, long pieces, some raisins and boiled cherries without juice, a handful of shredded almonds, and ¼ lb flour. Mix all this thoroughly, fill a large buttered tin pan or several small pans, and bake in the oven.
