Method

Soak 4–5 ordinary or Dutch herrings, remove the bones, chop fine, and stir in 1–3 finely chopped onions fried in oil. Add 1 French roll soaked and squeezed out or 12 boiled potatoes. Form into patties, sprinkle with flour, and fry in ¼ glass oil. Serve with sour-sweet sauce.
