With just the right proportion of fish to potatoes and a delicous crispy coating, these are very flavoursome. All you need alongside is some lemon and chive crème fraîche or tartare sauce, and a big green salad.

Ingredients

  • 250 g smoked haddock
  • 350 g potatoes, peeled and diced

Method

  1. Put the smoked haddock in a wide, heavy-bottomed pot and add enough water to cover it. Bring it to the boil on a medium heat, then take the pan off the heat and leave for 5 minutes, by which time the haddock will be cooked.
