  • About

Hummus is a versatile, guilt-free dip that can be flavored many different ways. It is a great source of protein, fiber, and healthy fat. When our children were very young they stopped dipping vegetables and crackers in hummus, opting instead for a bowl and spoon, and they continue to eat it that way to this day!

Ingredients

  • One 15-ounce (425 g) can no-salt-added garbanzo beans, drained, liquid reserved; or

Method

  1. Combine the garbanzo beans, ¼ cup (60 ml) reserved liquid from the bean can or bean cooking liquid, olive oil, lemon juice, tahini, and garlic in a food processor.
  2. Blend until very smooth, for about 2 minutes. Season with salt to taste.
