This is such simple and tasty fare that when I eat it with honest bread and a penknife, it has me fantasising that I’m a travelling labourer and this is payment for a morning of apple picking somewhere hot, dry and far from London. When choosing chorizo, I always seem to go for the ones shaped like croquet hoops, as they seem to be nicer than the straight ones. Go for a proper cider, made from pressed fresh apples, not concentrate.
