These apple fritters are a little off-piste from the norm, as they are fried in olive oil and slathered in bitter chestnut honey. If you are not one for bitter tastes, use any runny honey you please. On a skiing trip I ate these by the plate-load, thinking that my committed attack of the slopes warranted such joyful energy replacement.
