These apple fritters are a little off-piste from the norm, as they are fried in olive oil and slathered in bitter chestnut honey. If you are not one for bitter tastes, use any runny honey you please. On a skiing trip I ate these by the plate-load, thinking that my committed attack of the slopes warranted such joyful energy replacement. It made no more sense than eating a family box of Krispy Kremes after climbing the stairs. Easy does it! I have changed the original batter mix for a winning
