French Onion Just Dippin’

I snack on Funyuns all the time, so it’s crazy that it wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized they add just the right crunch to a bowl of good French onion dip. You can use Flamin’ Hot or regular Funyuns or even another type of chip—just make sure it’s an onion snack so it complements the dip’s flavors.

- In a medium skillet over medium-low heat, warm the oil and butter. Add the onions, garlic, sugar, and salt. Cook, stirring often, until caramelized and brown, about 45 minutes. Remove from the heat and let the onions cool to room temperature.
