Shiso is a really wonderful, if not common, herb that’s been popping up in more recipes lately. A member of the mint family, it has flavor reminiscent of mint but more complex, with hints of basil and sweet grass. I’m so enamored of this herb I now have a few plants of it in my garden. If you’re unable to find shiso (look in specialty produce sections or at Asian markets), you can use strips of red leaf lettuce instead. Keep the greens wrapped in damp paper towels until just before serving,
