If you prefer the thicker, fluffier variety of pancakes, these Scotch-style ones will hit the spot. Stack them up and top with some melted dairy-free butter or a generous dollop of jam.

  • 90 g/ oz ( cup) self-raising (self-rising) flour

Method

  1. Heat a large non-stick frying pan over a low heat (you don’t need any oil for this).
  2. Mix the flour, cornflour and baking powder together in a bowl.
  3. Combine the golden syrup, vinegar and milk in a large jug. Pour the liquid into the flour mixture and whisk together until well combined and the mixture is runny but thick.
  4. Ladle approximately 4
