Sweat the onion and garlic in a soup pot with some olive oil and pinches of salt, about 7 minutes. Add the white wine and cook until reduced by half.
Add the stock, corn kernels, and wild rice with several pinches of salt. Bring to a boil, lower to a simmer, and cook until the rice is tender, about 35 minutes. Adjust the seasoning.
