Need an idea for an aperitif at home? Here’s an extremely easy option that’s a great alternative to ordinary nuts and crisps. These tasty and crumbly Grana Padano cookies are very rich in cheese flavour, perfect as a snack for hungry dinner guests!

Make them in advance and store them for up to a week in an airtight container.

  • 100 g unsalted butter, softened
  • 120 g plain flour
  • 120 g Grana Padano cheese, grated

Knead the butter at room temperature with the flour and Grana Padano cheese until soft and smooth. Roll out the mixture over two baking sheets until 0.5cm thick. Rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.

    Preheat the oven to 180°C.

With a round pasta cutter, a cookie cutter (or even a glass) cut the dough and place on a baking tray covered with baking paper.

Bake in the oven for 8 minutes until golden.

    Serve at room temperature.
