Homemade whipped cream is easy to make and will blow the socks off anyone used to the stuff that comes in a tub out of your supermarket freezer. It also epitomizes one of those miraculous kitchen transformations that never gets old. Just remember to start using your mixer on low speed so you don’t splash yourself before the cream turns into soft peaks. Increase the speed as the peaks begin to form, and don’t overwhip.
