This once giant of the dessert menu is not as popular as it used to be, but don’t ignore it. There are still legions of patients who adore it. Equally popular hot or cold a good treacle tart can be a stalwart on the menu and also a star at teatime when served cold.
Eaten hot or cold, treacle tart will always raise the spirits. Serve with custard or whipped cream.
