This is one of the oldest recipes I have. It’s my mother’s recipe for sausage buns.

Every year, for as long as I can remember, my mother would make an enormous number of these sausage buns at the beginning of the Christmas holiday. If any made it to the holiday she’d freeze the extras, but usually they were gone long before Christmas and she would bake some more.

This was an easy way for her to serve snacks during the vacation, as we could heat them up ourselves in the oven.
