Ingredients

  • 8 red onions, sliced into thin rings
  • ½ cup (100 g) packed brown sugar

Method

Place the onions, sugar, and vinegar in a saucepan and slowly bring it to a boil. Simmer for about 10 minutes, until the onions are soft and the liquid becomes sticky. Add the wine and simmer for another 10 minutes. Let cool a little.

Add the grenadine syrup and stir in the pomegranate seeds. Let the compote cool completely and spoon it into 2 or 3 clean jars. Keep in the refrigerator f
