Toad in a hole is a traditional British recipe made with small sausages, but here I replace them with roasted onion. You can also make this with baked sausages: Roll them up in bacon slices—oohh, that’s really good. (By the way, for this picture I baked these toads in individual ramekins, which makes them look quite pretty.)

Ingredients

  • 4 medium-sized red onions, peeled cup plus 2 tbsp (100 ml)
