When I studied in Antwerp, a girlfriend and I would frequent the café Witzli Putzli around the corner for hot chocolate—real chocolate, with whipped cream, ground cardamom, and a generous drizzle of golden syrup. I would save money for it so that I could go as often as possible, even, sometimes, alone. It was so ridiculously good.
This is my own variation on that hot chocolate. You can serve it with golden syrup, but it might be too sweet with this version.
