A little while ago it was Carnaval. Now, I’m not the type to dance her way from pub to pub in the Dutch South, but I did have some guests over during vastelaovend (the eve of Lent). And because my parents are from the southern province of Limburg I did pick up a thing or two in my youth. I decided to cook a large pot of zoervleis (meat stew).
