Cookies are a childhood favourite of mine, as they are for most people. You can adapt this recipe to suit your own tastes by adding more or less chocolate (or white chocolate) if you wish.
You can make a great ice cream with any leftover cookies by simply breaking them up and folding them into freshly churned vanilla ice cream.
Chop the chocolate into rough chunks and place in a bowl. (If the chocolate is in a wrapper, simply smash it on the work surface, then pour the pieces from the wrapper into the bowl.)
Roughly dice the butter and melt it in the microwave or in a bowl over a pan of gently simmering water, making sure it does not get too hot. Remove the bowl from the pan.
