Crisp puff pastry, soft jammy figs and creamy mascarpone - this dish has it all as a classy dessert. As with melons, when you are choosing figs they should generally taste as good as they smell.

Ingredients

  • 500 g puff pastry (preferably made with all butter)
  • 12 slightly firm, black Italian figs
  • 60

Method

Preparation

Roll out the pastry on a floured surface until it is the size of an A4 sheet of paper and about 2mm thick. Place the pastry on a baking sheet and chill in the fridge for 20 minutes.

Slice the figs.

Preheat the oven to 240°C/220°C fan/gas 8.
