Fish Sandwich

‘Balık’ is fish and ‘ekmek’ is bread. A simple combination, but the two work very well together. You can find this sandwich by the water’s edge in Istanbul – next to Karaköy’s fish market at the feet of the Galata bridge, for example. The best are seasoned with an in-house spice mix; if you do not make one yourself, you can find special ready-made spice mixes for fish easily enough.
