With its sweet-and-sour, crunchy, full-on garlic flavour, this recipe is one for garlic-lovers. Boiling the cloves briefly tempers the taste slightly, but nonetheless a little can go a long way! I slice the pickled cloves into pasta or risotto dishes, over pizza or add whole cloves to a roasting joint as it goes into the oven. The number of bulbs you need will depend on their size, so check how many cloves will fit into the jar before starting to cook, in case you require a few more.
