One of the main comfort, home cooking dishes of Japan, Nikujaga (niku = beef, jagaimo = potatoes) is a hotpot of beef, potatoes and shirataki noodles, the zero calorie noodle made from Japanese konniyaku. The noodles soak up all the delicious flavours of the cooking broth, a mix of dashi, soy sauce, mirin and sake.
