This is such an Italian classic which speaks for itself, and has been one of my signature desserts since my student years. There is no particular Jewish connection to it, besides that Jews in Italy appreciate it as much as any other Italian. It is ideal for Shavuot, when traditionally cheese-based desserts are eaten, but I have to admit I make it whenever I can! There is no alcohol in my recipe, however, should you prefer it with alcohol, then add 2-3 tablespoons of Marsala
