    • 20 fresh or dried dates, pitted, rinsed
    • ½ cup (125 ml) rice wine

    Method

    1. If using dried dates, soak the dates in the rice wine for 3 hours to soften. Omit this step if using fresh dates.
    2. Insert 2 or 3 pine nuts into the opening of each date, allowing some nuts to protrude.
    3. Drizzle a little honey over the dates and place the dates in a saucepan. Pour in the remaining honey and simmer the mixture over low heat, stirring, unt
