For the Grilled Cheese Croutons

  • 2 cups (8 oz/250 g) shredded or crumbled cheese


Put one-fourth of the cheese on each of 4 of the bread slices, spreading it evenly. Top each cheese-covered slice with a second bread slice. Spread the outside of both sides of each sandwich with butter.
