Pancakes are traditionally served for breakfast in a stack, with butter, maple syrup or honey, and crisp bacon.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup/125 g all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp sugar

Method

  1. Mix the batter, adding the baking powder and baking soda to the flour with the salt. Leave to stand at least 30 minutes. It should pour easily; if it is thick, add more buttermilk.
