This is the classic ice cream, flavored with the pure sweet taste of vanilla. Chocolate sauce or fudge sauce is a perfect rich accompaniment.



  1. Make the custard and chill it until very cold. Freeze it in an ice cream churn or freezer until slushy. Add the whipped cream, making sure to combine it thoroughly, and continue freezing until the mixture is firm.
  2. Lift out the paddle. Pack down the ice cream in the churn, or pack it into a chilled container, cover tightly and store in the freezer. If chilling f
