  1. Rub the pickling cucumbers to remove any spines Mix them with the coarse salt in a bowl and leave for 24 hours.
  2. Drain the cucumbers and put them in a bowl with water to cover. Soak for 5 minutes and drain again.
  3. Wipe the cucumbers dry and put them in two sterilized 1 quart
