Gingerbread has never been my favorite holiday treat, but adding chocolate to the batter has changed the way I think about gingerbread. The combination of cocoa and warm spices is really quite nice.

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon

Method

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Butter an 8-inch square baking dish and set aside.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together cocoa, flour, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, n
