This classic French cake has captured my heart. I like using almonds with the skin on for color and texture. Add summer plums or pluots bursting with juice and watch how beautifully they come together. Pure heaven.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup (114 g) unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup + 2

Method

Preheat oven to 375°. Coat an 8″ × 8″ baking dish with nonstick spray and set aside.

To make brown butter, place butter in a medium saucepan over high heat. Bring to a boil and lower heat to medium. Use a wooden spoon or heat-resistant spatula to stir, scraping any milk solids
