The first time I made these sunny spiced pasties, they were demolished, so be assured that the piquancy isn’t too hot. I like to use all-butter shortcrust pastry, which is typically found in the chilled aisle near the butter. The filling for these pasties makes more than you need, but it will keep covered in the fridge for up to 5 days and can be used to fill more pasties, or served warm alongside rice or naan breads with mango chutney.
