If you are a cautious eater, this is where to dip your toe into global cuisine. It is mild and delicate, but conjures up the flavours of Thailand. It uses storecupboard ingredients so there are no unusual ingredients to stop you having a go!

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, peeled and chopped
  • 1 garlic clove, peeled and

Method

  1. Put the onion and oil into a saucepan with a tablespoon of water, cover and cook over a gentle heat for 5 minutes.
  2. Add the g
