Sometimes you want lovely, fresh-tasting homemade food when you are on your own. This recipe is as easy to make for one as it is to make for a dozen. You can have great-tasting pasta sauce in less time than it takes to cook the pasta!

Ingredients

  • 400 g tinned chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon tomato purée

Method

  1. Put all the sauce ingredients (except the pasta) into a saucepan, stir together, turn up the heat and boil for 5 minutes. Season to taste. Alternatively, you can do this in a bowl in the microwave – cover the bowl with cling film, pierce a hole in the film and cook for 5 minutes at full power. The sauce will keep for a few days (see
