This is fast and simple, and the beauty of making your own hummus is that you can add whatever flavour you want.


  • 400 g tinned chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled

  1. Put the chickpeas, garlic cloves, tahini paste and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice into a food processor and blend. As you blend, drizzle in the olive oil. The mixture will start off thick and gradually get to a smoothish paste. Taste and add more lemon juice if necessary. Season with and salt and pepper.
