I am a huge fan of one-pot cooking. This has vegetables, potatoes and meat all together in one stew. The flavours are classic, the ingredients simple. The beer flavour mellows as it is cooked, so this makes a great family dish.

  1. Follow the method to make the classic onion base in a large saucepan. Remove from the pan and set aside.
