On one Greek holiday, our villa was perched halfway up the steep hillside of Symi harbour with a great view across the Mediterranean and the pretty lights below of the tavernas lining the bay. As far round the harbour as it was possible to go was a little rustic taverna on its own. Here they served a house speciality – Symi meatballs. They looked and smelled great as they arrived on an earthenware platter, but the surprise was to come. Tucked away inside was a mouthful of fresh feta cheese!
