Couscous is made from wheat that has been dehydrated so it can be stored in hot temperatures. It is the staple food of North Africa. This is one of the most simple ways to serve it, but you can add almost anything and any flavour to the grains.

Ingredients

  • 300 ml mugful of couscous
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ½

Method

  1. Pour the measured couscous into a mixing bowl and stir in the olive oil. Put the stock cube into the mug and refill with the boiling water. Stir until dissolved. Pour the stock and lemon juice over the couscous. Stir well and leave for 10 minutes. Remember, the couscous is simply wheat, if you do not rehydrate it in a flavoured liquid it will taste very bland. Make sure
