I think French beans are best steamed and cooked at the last minute, but that is not always possible if you are entertaining and have a hob full of other things cooking. Here is a foolproof way to cook them in advance.

Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic
  • 250 g fresh French beans
  • 50 g

Method

  1. Chop the garlic finely and sprinkle with salt while still on the chopping board. Use a table knife to work the salt into the garlic and turn it into a paste. Keep to one side.
