‘Pavé’ literally means slab or stone – like a paving stone. In France you can have a ‘pavé’ of rump steak or lamb, or you can have a ‘pavé au chocolat’... You can imagine it already, can’t you? A big slab of rich chocolate!

Ingredients

  • 250 g white marshmallows (some pink will be fine)
  • 4 tablespoons milk

  1. Line the loaf tin with a double layer of cling film.
  2. Melt the marshmallows in the milk in a saucepan on a low heat, then transfer to a mixing bowl and set aside to cool for at least 10 minutes.
  3. Melt the chocolate in a bowl over a saucepan of boiling water. Set to one side to cool.
