Mulled wine conjures up a treat on a cold winter’s day, so why confine it to the glass?

Ingredients

  • 300 ml red wine
  • 150 g caster sugar
  • 1

Method

  1. Gently heat the wine, sugar, orange and cinnamon in a saucepan until the sugar has dissolved. Turn the heat up and boil until you have 100ml left – measure it! Strain and return the syrup to the pan. Add the berries and simmer for 2 minutes.
  2. Excellent with ice cream, meringues, pies and tarts.
