This is my standard oat biscuit recipe. Sometimes I coat them in chocolate, sometimes orange icing (as in this recipe), or sometimes I just leave them plain. They are excellent with a few nuts added; perfect with some raisins or cranberries. These are brilliant to make with children as the mixture can cope with being over-handled.

Ingredients

  • 250 g self raising flour
  • 50 g porridge oats

  1. Line the baking trays with baking parchment.
  2. Put the flour, oats and butter into a mixing bowl and use the tips of your fingers and thumbs to rub the butter into the flour and oats until you have a mixture that looks like breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar.
