Summer fruit salads may contain peaches, yellow and white; nectarines, yellow and white; apricots; plums of all kinds and colors; and summer melons. Here is one made with nectarines and the first kiwis of late summer, which is striking to look at and delicious.
Cut the nectarines and kiwis into quarters, alternating the colors in a serving dish for a lovely bright pattern; keep refrigerated. Half an hour before serving, sprinkle with the sugar and add the liqueur. Tilt the dish and spoon the mixture of nectarine juices, liqueur, and sugar over the fruit several times before serving.
