This is a learning recipe. In the recipe for Strawberry Preserves in Currant Jelly, the cook finds him/herself with a large supply of strawberry-flavored syrup that is not used. Cool that syrup completely; you will have between 5 and 6 cups of it. This jelly must be consumed rapidly (see explanation below) and needs no boiling water bath treatment.
