Chocolate Clove Ice Cream

One of our seasonal soft-serve flavors at Malai is chocolate scented with clove. I remember a customer trying it and remarking on how “clovey” it tasted. He then followed that up with, “That’s cool!” You know what? Cloves are cool. They get a bad rap for being too strong and overbearing and for having a spicy bitterness that is unlike any of the warming spices. But those flavor notes pair beautifully with chocolate.
