Butterscotch is one of the most underrated flavors. It has the reputation of being overly sweet and sugary. But it’s not! It’s nuanced. It has natural cooked notes, sugar that is complex and burnt, and a deep caramel flavor. Butterscotch is quite wonderful on its own, but pair butterscotch with the woodsy, licorice notes of fennel and it becomes next level.
