To my mind, what makes a great ice cream topping is that it’s something you may also want to snack on by itself. This is one of those great toppings—yes, it’s great on top of a scoop—but these clusters are also superior as a midafternoon (or midnight) treat. Feel free to experiment with the type of extract and the spice.

Ingredients

  • Nonstick cooking spray, for the pan
  • 1 flax egg (see Pooja’s Tip)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract</
