From the age of three my youngest daughter Kate liked pies above all else. ‘I just want a pie’ she used to wail with the powerful voice that has turned her into the singer she is today. So I made this; I knew she would love it as it included two of her favourite things, beef and sweetcorn. The ‘grown-ups’ wolfed it down too.

Ingredients

  • 4 whole eggs
  • olive oil, for frying
  • 2 tsp garlic cloves, finely chopped

Method

In a saucepan of cold water, bring the eggs to a gentle boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 7 minutes. Dip in cold water, peel, roughly chop and set aside. Heat a little oil in a frying pan over a medium heat. Add the garlic and chilli, mix briefly, then add the beef.
