Pears, for a reason I have never been able to explain, are not my favourite fruit, but I have found they work well in savoury dishes. These, stuffed with ginger flavoured pork and wrapped in bacon, are a testament to that. I like them best for a light lunch or supper served with a mixed salad and warm crusty bread.

Ingredients

  • 250 g lean pork mince
  • 1 large garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 3 cm

Method

Place the pork in a bowl with the garlic, ginger and seasoning. Heat the oil in a frying pan over a high heat, add the mince mixture and stir for 5–6 minutes, or until separated and browned. Add the soy sauce and cook for another minute. Remove from the heat and set aside.

Preheat the oven to 180°C/Gas mark 4
